Standing With You

Sadly, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol has confirmed that a two-vehicle accident recently took the life of an elderly Sapulpa man and injured a man from Bixby. Snowy and slick weather conditions are believed to have been a factor in the crash, and Oklahoma residents who brave the roadways this winter would be well advised to exercise due caution.

According to investigators, the crash occurred when a pickup truck driven by a 75-year-old man from Sapulpa crossed the center of the roadway and collided with a Jeep operated by a 42-year-old man from Bixby. The elder man reportedly suffered massive injuries, and he died at the scene.

The Bixby man was taken to a hospital in Tulsa to be treated for a number of injuries. His condition at the hospital was reported to be stable.

The accident occurred on a hill, and the wintry weather also caused problems for first responders, who apparently had a hard time reaching the scene of the collision.

While inclement weather conditions can certainly play a role in a car accident, drivers also have an obligation to exercise an appropriate degree of caution. Not driving with a sense of duty to other motorists too often leads to catastrophic consequences.

If Oklahoma residents find themselves in the aftermath of an auto accident of any kind, it is important to take the proper steps, such as documenting any and all medical treatment resulting from the crash. Injured parties or their loved ones may also want to speak with a personal injury attorney in order to apprise themselves of their rights.
