Negligent driver accountability in auto-pedestrian accidents

The chance of serious injuries or death in any accident involving a motor vehicle is high. When that accident involves a pedestrian, the chances increase dramatically. In the United States, pedestrian deaths caused by automobiles are on the rise. This is mostly attributed to the increase in the number of Americans who are walking as a means of transportation and exercise. Due to this rise in pedestrian accidents, state legislatures are toughening the laws regarding motorists yielding and stopping for pedestrians in hopes of decreasing the number of auto-pedestrian accident incidents.

Many cases of pedestrian accidents are caused by a negligent driver. The driver can be negligent in any number of ways, including but not limited to, driving under the influence, failure to yield or stop for a pedestrian, running a red light or distracted driving.

When a loved one is injured or dies as a result of an auto-pedestrian accident, it will have a life-changing impact. There may be financial implications because of the lost income that was once provided by the deceased or extensive medical bills that accumulated while they were being treated for their injuries. The pain and suffering that the injured person and their families endure is widespread. In many cases, you may be entitled to compensation. Although this will not ease the pain, it will help you to focus on healing, without having to worry about financial matters.

If a loved one is involved in a pedestrian accident, it is important to obtain the services of an experienced lawyer. He or she can handle the sometimes complicated details of your case and hold the wrongful parties accountable so that you and your family can be compensated accordingly.
