Oklahoma truck accident kills woman and 2 children

All fatal truck accidents are tragic, but when they take the lives of young children, people respond in a particularly emotional way. Right now, a town in Oklahoma is mourning the loss of two young children as well as a woman. The truck accident occurred on I-35 near Purcell on Monday, July 17.

According to one report, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) is still investigating the cause of the fatal truck accident. However, it is worth noting that at least one other news source reported that the semi-truck was stopped on the highway when the accident occurred.

An SUV driven by a 40-year-old woman reportedly crashed into the back of the semi. The woman later died as a result of her injuries. Two young children aged 10 and 11 also died in the accident; one of them was the child of the deceased driver.

Unfortunately, these three deaths were not the only toll the accident took. According to news reports, three 13-year-old girls are currently in critical condition. A 7-year-old girl was also in the SUV but suffered no major injuries. The driver of the semi suffered no injuries at all. The woman and the five children were returning to their homes in Jenks when the truck accident occurred.

While many may speculate as to why the woman failed to avoid the collision, it is important to look at the truck driver as a possible cause as well. This is especially so if the truck was indeed stopped on the highway as reported. It is vital to look at precisely why he was not moving and uncover whether his actions may have led to the truck accident.
